Classroom Couch Critics
2023/ Website
Origins
This project was a feat my roommate and I completed from our dorm room. We were tasked with coming up with a website idea and then building it from scratch. Almost immediately we knew that we wanted something to do with TV shows, something we both do frequently in our shared space. Since we were college freshman we decided to base our users on college students, hence Classroom Couch Critics was born.
Research
After figuring out our user base and idea, we got to gathering relevant information. The way we procured this information was a google form sent out to our dorm, and friends around campus. All students with access to this form were Purdue students, so we got a true feel of how college age students like certain shows.

Design Process

Once a general color scheme and feel was selected for the website, it was time to start designing it. Some basic sketching was completed on the ipad to flesh out the feel. Afterwards we were tasked with laying out all the pages on Figma to give us reference to what exactly we wanted to code. We configured desktop pages, but also a mobile layout as-well. This was the first website I ever designed and found that the creative aspect was something that I enjoyed.
Coding

This was my introduction to coding, and it was an intimidating process to start. For this website I mainly used HTML and CSS to add structure and design to the site. My roommate and I used replit to be able to code in a collaborative space together. My roommate added some Javascript to make our website more interactive, while I spearheaded more of the design process. In the end we used Git-Hub to be able to upload our site to a server
